  • Protected from loss: Your data is safely backed up and won't be lost if you change or lose your device
  • Reliably preserved: Enterprise-grade infrastructure ensures your memories are safe for years to come

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Email address and authentication credentials when you create an account
  • Profile Information: Any optional profile details you choose to provide
  • Journal Entries: The content you write, including text entries and any associated metadata
  • Preferences: Your app settings and customization choices

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
  • Usage Data: How you interact with the App, features used, and session duration
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, and app crash reports

1.3 Biometric Authentication

If you enable Face ID or Touch ID, the biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's secure enclave. We never receive, store, or have access to your actual biometric data. The authentication happens locally on your device.

How AI Processing Works:

  • Your journal entries are processed by AI systems to provide personalized features
  • AI processing is performed using secure, encrypted connections
  • We use leading AI providers who are contractually bound to protect your data
  • AI-generated insights are created solely to benefit your personal growth and reflection

Your Privacy During AI Processing:

  • Journal entries are processed to provide you with personalized features only
  • We do not use your personal journal content to train AI models
  • AI providers do not retain your data after processing

4. Protection of Your Journal Data

Your personal journal entries are sacred to us. We want to be absolutely clear:

  • Your journal entries will never be shared with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes
  • Your journal entries will never be sold to anyone
  • We will only disclose your journal content if absolutely required by law enforcement with valid legal process

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate the App:

Data Storage & Infrastructure

  • Supabase: Secure cloud database for storing your account and journal data, with encryption at rest and in transit

Authentication

  • Apple Sign-In: For secure account authentication
  • Google Sign-In: For secure account authentication

AI Processing

  • AI Service Providers: For generating personalized prompts and insights (data is processed securely and not retained)

Analytics & Performance

  • Analytics Services: To understand app usage in aggregate (anonymized data only)
  • Crash Reporting: To identify and fix technical issues

Payments

  • Apple App Store: For processing subscription payments

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

6. Data Security

We implement robust security measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS
  • Encryption at Rest: Your data is encrypted when stored in our databases
  • Access Controls: Strict internal controls limit employee access to user data

7. Data Retention

  • Active Accounts: Your data is retained as long as your account is active
  • Deleted Content: When you delete journal entries, they are removed from our active databases within 30 days (retained briefly for disaster recovery purposes)
  • Account Deletion: If you delete your account, all your data will be permanently removed within 30 days

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export: Download your journal entries in a portable format
